Sb2S3 thin films by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis of antimony ethyl xanthate

Jako S. Eensalu et al.

Summary: In this study, antimony ethyl xanthate proved to be suitable for the deposition of pure phase crystalline Sb2S3 thin films via ultrasonic spray pyrolysis. Adding thiourea or thioacetamide to the spray solution prevented the oxidation of the growing Sb2S3 layer during deposition at various temperatures. The key to producing conformal crystalline Sb2S3 thin films with the desired properties was the post-growth heat treatment in vacuum.

Spray pressure variation effect on the properties of CdS thin films for photodetector applications

A. Kathalingam et al.

Summary: CdS thin films with different photosensing properties were prepared using spray pyrolysis method at various spray pressures. The results showed that the properties of the CdS films were influenced by different spray pressures, with variations in crystallite sizes, bandgaps, and optical properties within a certain range of spray pressures. The photodetector fabricated using the CdS films exhibited good performance, with high photoresponsivity and external quantum efficiency achieved at a spray pressure of 1.5 GPa.

Reduced graphene oxide layer on nanostructured SnS thin films for improved visible light photoelectrochemical activity

Dipika Sharma et al.

Summary: The deposition of reduced graphene oxide layer on SnS thin films has been shown to improve their photoelectrochemical response, enhancing the photocurrent density and photostability while promoting charge carrier separation at the interface. The rGO layer acts as a protective layer for SnS in the electrolyte and serves as an electron reservoir to accept photoexcited electrons, highlighting its promising role in enhancing photoelectrochemical water splitting.

Summary: The microstructural, crystallographic, morphological, and optical properties of thiol-amine cosolvent-assisted Triton X-100 surfactant-induced cadmium sulfide (CdS) thin-films spin-coated on soda-lime glass substrates at room temperature and annealed under different conditions were investigated. The annealing environment was found to significantly influence the properties of the CdS films, with changes observed in phase transition, crystal size, and surface morphology. These results highlight the importance of annealing environment in tailoring the application-specific properties of CdS films.
