Influence of two photodynamic therapy sessions and different photosensitizers on the bond strength of glass -fiber posts in different regions of intraradicular dentin

Henrico Badaoui Strazzi-Sahyon et al.

Summary: Curcumin at higher concentration decreases bond strength in apical region, while two sessions of photodynamic therapy using methylene blue show no significant influence on bond strength. Root canal depth does not affect bond strength of glass-fiber posts.

The effects of using erbium, chromium-doped:yttrium-scandium-gallium-garnet laser on the surface modification, bacterial decontamination, and cell adhesion on zirconia discs: an in vitro study

Charles M. Pham et al.

Summary: The use of zirconia for implants and abutments has become more prevalent in implant dentistry as an alternative to titanium implants, but peri-implant disease can still affect them. The Er,Cr:YSGG laser has shown promise as a treatment modality, effectively removing bacteria from zirconia discs and promoting fibroblast attachment. The study found no statistical significance in surface roughness among treatment groups, but significant differences in bacteria decontamination and cell attachment, favoring the laser group.

Push out bond strength of glass fiber post to radicular dentin irrigated with Nisin and MTAD compared to methylene blue photodynamic therapy

Abdullah S. Aljamhan et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the effect of different canal disinfectants on the push-out bond strength of fiber posts to radicular dentin. Results showed that irrigation with 2.5% NaOCl and 17% EDTA resulted in the highest PBS, while using 10% Nisin with MTAD led to the lowest PBS. Irrigation with 1.3% NaOCl and MTAD showed similar PBS to the control group. Both methods are recommended for clinical use, while further investigation is needed for 10% Nisin and PDT with MTAD.
