Summary: This study reported the conjugation of Pcs to NPs to enhance their photoinactivation capability and investigated the photophysicochemical behavior of the conjugates. The results showed a decrease in fluorescence quantum yields and lifetimes, and an increase in triplet quantum yield and singlet oxygen quantum yield for the conjugates compared to the complexes alone. The Phi(T) values were higher for the conjugates with IONPs-APTES, indicating potential advantages due to the heavy atom effect of iron and high loading capacity of iron oxide NPs.
