Genetic variation in polymorphic genes plays a crucial role in influencing the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of different drugs through various mechanisms, contributing to the observed phenotypic variability.
it is most likely that genetic variation in a multitude of different polymorphic genes is responsible, where the gene products in one way or another influence the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of different drugs by many different mechanisms and thereby contribute to the phenotypic variability observed.
