The effects of exercise training on lipid profile in patients with sarcoidosis

Dariusz Jastrzebski et al.

Summary: This study found that short-term, in-hospital exercise training benefits patients with sarcoidosis by improving their physical function, with positive effects on their lipid profile. It suggests that lipid profiling could become a new prognostic method to assess the effects of pulmonary rehabilitation in patients with sarcoidosis.

Adipocytokines in Untreated Newly Diagnosed Rheumatoid Arthritis: Association with Circulating Chemokines and Markers of Inflammation

Georgios K. Vasileiadis et al.

Summary: The study found a positive association between total adiponectin and pro-inflammatory chemokines, as well as markers of inflammation in patients with untreated newly diagnosed RA. However, high-molecular weight adiponectin was only associated with specific chemokines. Leptin and resistin showed no association with plasma chemokines, markers of inflammation, or disease activity scores.

Gut microbiome in pediatric acute leukemia: from predisposition to cure

Riccardo Masetti et al.

Summary: The gut microbiome plays a crucial role in the development and progression of diseases, affecting treatment outcomes and complications in acute leukemia patients. Specific gut microbiome configurations may contribute to leukemogenesis, and alterations during therapy could lead to long-term health issues in survivors. This article reviews chronological changes in the gut microbiome of children with acute leukemia and highlights potential interventions to promote health.
