Band parameters and thermoelectric properties of chalcopyrite ternary compounds CdXP2 (X = Si, Ge and Sn)

Nafissa Megag et al.

Summary: In this paper, detailed computational studies were conducted on the structural, electronic, optical, magnetic and thermoelectric properties of the CdXP2 (X = Si, Ge and Sn) compounds using the FP-LAPW method. The calculated structural parameters showed excellent agreement with theoretical data, while the electronic band structure, optical transitions, and thermoelectric parameters were also analyzed to explore the potential applications of these compounds in technological devices.

Structure, electronic and optical properties of chalcopyrite semiconductor AgTiX2 (X = S, Se, Te): A density functional theory study

Prabhat Ranjan et al.

Summary: The structure, electronic, and optical properties of chalcopyrite-type semiconductor material AgTiX2 (X = S, Se, Te) were investigated using Density Functional Theory (DFT). Results suggest that AgTiX2 can be a potential candidate for optoelectronic and photovoltaic applications, especially in solar cells. AgTiS2 is identified as the most stable system with the largest HOMO-LUMO gap, according to the research findings.

Influence of temperature dependence and Li substitution on the electronic structure of delafossite CuFeO2 and CuFeS2 semiconductors

O. M. Ozkendir

Summary: The electronic structure properties of delafossite CuFeO2 and Chalcopyrite CuFeS2 semiconductors were studied theoretically using XAFS technique. The hybridized states built with the contribution of the overlapped outer shell electrons and levels of the neighboring atoms were observed to support the stability of the molecular bands. In the study of 20% Li substitution, a 0.5 eV shift was observed in the Fe K-edge absorption spectra in CuFeO2 semiconductors, leading to an increase in the strength of the Fe-O bonds due to weaker electronegativity of Li.
