Improved collection efficiency for spectrally encoded imaging using 4f configuration

Qian Zhu et al.

Summary: Spectrally encoded imaging (SEI) is an indispensable tool for studying a variety of phenomena in scientific and technological applications by providing valuable structural information of the specimen. By combining with a 4f configuration and operating in the 1.5μm band, a compact and high-performance SEI system greatly improves the collection efficiency of wavelength-to-space mapping, with an overall efficiency of 70% achieved through the system.

Vortex soliton oscillation in a mode-locked laser based on broadband long-period fiber grating

Linping Teng et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates a compact mode-locked vortex fiber laser based on matching the group velocities of LP01 and LP11 core modes in a two-mode fiber, utilizing a long-period fiber grating for oscillation of the optical vortex beams and employing the time-stretch dispersive Fourier transform method for observing the dynamics of vortex soliton formation. The research on vortex soliton oscillation drives towards controlling vortex modes in mode-locked fiber lasers.

3 W average-power high-order mode pulse in dissipative soliton resonance mode-locked fiber laser

Longtao Wang et al.

Summary: This paper presents two schemes of generating high-order modes (HOMs) from mode-locked fiber lasers (MLFLs) in the dissipative soliton resonance (DSR) regime, achieving watt-level HOM outputs. Different fiber gratings enable flexible mode conversion and demonstrate their robust capability of efficient mode manipulation in MLFLs.
