Direct Measurement of the Astrophysical 19F(p,αγ)16O Reaction in the Deepest Operational Underground Laboratory

Summary: Fluorine is considered one of the most interesting elements in nuclear astrophysics, and the direct measurements of the F-19(p, alpha gamma)O-16 reaction channel have provided new insights into the reaction rate at relevant astrophysical energies. The experiment conducted at the Jinping Underground Nuclear Astrophysics facility revealed deviations from previous theoretical predictions in low-energy S factors and significantly reduced uncertainties in the data. This study highlights the importance of experimental data in refining our understanding of nuclear astrophysical processes.

Characterization of the LUNA neutron detector array for the measurement of the 13C(α, n)16O reaction

Event vertex and time reconstruction in large-volume liquid scintillator detectors

Summary: In this study, four event vertex and event time reconstruction algorithms using charge and time information were comprehensively analyzed, with the transit time spread identified as the main factor degrading vertex reconstruction. Low event rate neutron detector array using the coincidence between plastic scintillator and Helium-3 counters

Summary: This paper introduces a neutron detector array designed for detecting neutrons with extremely low rates, developed for the JUNA project in CJPL to measure the C-13 (alpha, n) O-16 reaction cross-section. The detector array underwent various tests, with measurements reproduced by Monte Carlo simulation, and coincidence measurements between the plastic scintillator and Helium-3 counters were performed to lay the foundation for future experiments at CJPL.
