Towards robust glucose chemical exchange saturation transfer imaging in humans at 3 T: Arterial input function measurements and the effects of infusion time

Anina Seidemo et al.

Summary: Dynamic glucose-enhanced (DGE) magnetic resonance imaging has potential for tumor imaging using D-glucose as a contrast agent. The study investigated DGE arterial input functions (AIFs) in healthy volunteers at 3T and found that the measured DGE AIF signal change depends on both motion and blood glucose concentration change, emphasizing the need for sufficient motion correction in glucoCEST imaging. It was concluded that a longer infusion duration should preferably be used in glucoCEST experiments to minimize glucose infusion side effects without negatively affecting the DGE signal change.

Whole-brain amide CEST imaging at 3T with a steady-state radial MRI acquisition

Ran Sui et al.

Summary: The study aimed to develop a method for acquiring CEST images at 3 Tesla using starCEST, and successfully extracted amideCEST intensities using the polynomial Lorentzian line-shape fitting method. Results showed that the amideCEST images acquired with starCEST exhibited improved image quality, SNR, and motion robustness compared to conventional methods.

Whole-brain quantitative CEST MRI at 7T using parallel transmission methods and B-1(+) correction

Andrzej Liebert et al.

Summary: The study aimed to achieve whole-brain quantitative CEST MRI at ultra-high magnetic field strengths (B-0 >= 7T) with short acquisition times. By combining MIMOSA FOCUS sequence with B-1(+) correction, the inhomogeneity of CEST contrasts around the occipital lobe and cerebellum was reduced. Results showed that MIMOSA FOCUS sequence with a single-point B-1(+) correction provided the most stable inter-subject coefficient of variation, with a maximum coefficient of variation below 8% for 3 measurements in a single volunteer.
