Ethylene-activated PpERF105 induces the expression of the repressor-type R2R3-MYB gene PpMYB140 to inhibit anthocyanin biosynthesis in red pear fruit

Junbei Ni et al.

Summary: Ethylene induces anthocyanin biosynthesis in most fruits, but inhibits it in pears. The transcription factor PpERF105 activated the expression of PpMYB140, which then inhibited the anthocyanin biosynthesis in pears. The competition between PpMYB140 and PpMYB114 led to the formation of a complex that further inhibited anthocyanin biosynthesis.

A gene expression atlas for kiwifruit (Actinidia chinensis) and network analysis of transcription factors

Lara Brian et al.

Summary: Transcriptomic analysis of the Actinidia chinensis genome identified 2839 transcription factors (TFs) which were grouped into 14 modules, with certain modules correlating to flower and fruit development. This study provides insight into the complexity of transcriptional control of flower and fruit development, offering a new resource for the plant community.
