Relay interlayer synchronisation: invariance and stability conditions

Sarbendu Rakshit et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the existence and stability of relay interlayer synchronization in a chain of multiplex networks. The dynamics of nodes in symmetric positions on both sides of the non-identical middlemost layer(s) are identical. Analytical conditions for local and global stability of this synchronization state are derived using the master stability function approach and a suitable Lyapunov function, respectively. The impact of interlayer and intralayer coupling strengths, variations of system parameters in the relay layers, and demultiplexing on the emergence of relay interlayer synchrony are explored through numerical simulations.

The synchronized dynamics of time-varying networks

Dibakar Ghosh et al.

Summary: Complex network theory has provided an ideal framework for studying the relationships between the connectivity patterns and emergent synchronized functioning in systems. This review summarizes the major results of contemporary studies on synchronization in time-varying networks, focusing on two paradigmatic frameworks. It also discusses promising directions and open problems for future research.

Collective steady-state patterns of swarmalators with finite-cutoff interaction distance

Hyun Keun Lee et al.

Summary: This study investigates the steady-state patterns of population of coupled oscillators with a finite-cutoff in the interaction distance, revealing new static patterns that emerge only when a finite-cutoff is considered. Existing static patterns from infinite-cutoff, such as static sync, static async, and static phase waves, are repeated and deformed in space for different finite-cutoff ranges. Unique bar-like phase wave states are observed, presenting a deviation from the patterns seen in infinite-cutoff scenarios.

Dynamic interaction induced explosive death

Shiva Dixit et al.

Summary: Research shows that the heterogeneity in the timings of interactions between oscillators in coupled dynamical systems significantly influences the dynamical processes, leading to an abrupt transition from oscillatory to death state due to occasional interactions, coexisting oscillatory and death states near the transition point.

A MEAN-FIELD LIMIT OF THE PARTICLE SWARMALATOR MODEL

Seung-Yeal Ha et al.

Summary: In this study, we present a mean-field limit of the particle swarmalator model with singular communication weights introduced in a previous work. By employing a probabilistic approach for molecular chaos propagation and suitable cut-offs in singular terms, we validate the mean-field limit. Additionally, we establish local-in-time well-posedness of strong and weak solutions to the kinetic swarmalator equation derived from the model.
