Patterns of sexual behavior and psychological processes in asexual persons: a systematic review

Leonor de Oliveira et al.

Summary: Asexuality is commonly perceived as a lack of sexual attraction, but research on asexuals' patterns of sexual behavior and psychological processes is not yet systematized. Current findings suggest that asexuals exhibit significant diversity in sexual behaviors and psychological processes related to sexuality, including different aspects and types of interpersonal and romantic relationships, sexual attitudes, and fantasies. While data did not find evidence to support impaired sexual functioning in asexuals, the limited geographic and cultural diversity in samples is a major limitation for accurately representing asexual individuals.

Processing of intraspecific chemical signals in the rodent brain

Carla Mucignat-Caretta

Summary: In the rodent brain, the central processing of ecologically relevant chemical stimuli involves various areas at different levels, including the main and accessory olfactory bulbs, nuclei in the amygdala, hypothalamus, and brainstem. Recent data suggests that processing of intraspecific chemical signals is not unique to one system, with some molecules activating both the main and accessory olfactory systems. These areas work together to interpret chemosensory information and drive appropriate responses, affecting neural activity in other areas of the brain.

Down regulatory response of reproductive potentials in stress-induced rats supplemented with clomifene citrate: The fate of infertility

Bartholomew Chukwuebuka Nwogueze et al.

Summary: This study investigated the physiological effects of stress-induced infertility in female Wistar rats supplemented with clomifene citrate. Different types of stress altered the histoarchitecture of ovary and uterus. Clomifene citrate administration influenced ovulation, pregnancy outcomes, and offspring survival rate in stressed pregnant rats.

No evidence for prolactin's involvement in the post-ejaculatory refractory period

Spatial and temporal scales of dopamine transmission

Changliang Liu et al.

Summary: Dopamine is a prototypical neuromodulator that controls circuit function through G protein-coupled receptor signaling. While dopamine is often described as a diffusive and slow signaling molecule, recent studies suggest that certain functions of dopamine require spatiotemporal precision.

Physiological and pharmacological impact of oxytocin on epididymal propulsion during the ejaculatory process in rodents and men

Beatrix Stadler et al.

Summary: The study found that oxytocin produces strong contractions in specific segments of the epididymis in both rats and humans during ejaculation, which may be closely related to the ejaculation process. Segment 19 in rats and segment 9 in humans respond to oxytocin and noradrenaline in a similar manner. Fluorescent imaging techniques allow the observation of epididymal responses to oxytocin.

Exploring Male Multiple Orgasm in a Large Online Sample: Refining Our Understanding

Gabrielle Griffin-Mathieu et al.

Summary: The study on male multiple orgasms found that there are different profiles of this experience rather than a unified phenomenon. Most participants reported experiencing 2 to 4 orgasms with a specific time interval and requiring additional stimulation. Age was not a significant factor, and multiple orgasms occurred more frequently in a dyadic context.

Summary: The study showed that IHH patients have lower HRQoL and SS compared to controls, with high rates of ED and depressive symptoms. The age at IHH diagnosis correlated inversely with overall HRQoL scores. Alarmingly, there was a high non-compliance rate with hormone replacement therapy among patients.
