Large scale salp-based grey wolf optimization for feature selection and global optimization

A novel upgraded bat algorithm based on cuckoo search and Sugeno inertia weight for large scale and constrained engineering design optimization problems

Summary: In this paper, a novel upgraded bat algorithm called UBCSIW is proposed, which combines the competence of bat algorithm in exploiting optimal solutions with cuckoo search's ability to explore the best solution globally. The algorithm introduces a new velocity and position search equation to establish a balance between exploration and exploitation, and incorporates Sugeno fuzzy inertia weight to enhance the flexibility and diversity of bat population. Simulation results show that the proposed UBCSIW algorithm achieves highly competitive results in terms of optimization accuracy and convergence, outperforming other algorithms in various test functions.

ESSAWOA: Enhanced Whale Optimization Algorithm integrated with Salp Swarm Algorithm for global optimization

ESSAWOA combines the mechanisms of SSA and LOBL to enhance WOA, resulting in improved exploitation and exploration capacity. The experimental results demonstrate that ESSAWOA outperforms basic WOA, SSA, and other meta-heuristic algorithms in solving optimization problems effectively and efficiently.

Summary: The present study aims to establish a comparatively better synergy between exploration and exploitation in the Sine Cosine Algorithm (SCA), by improving the exploration ability through integrating social and cognitive components, and maintaining a balance between exploration and exploitation through the Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO). The proposed SC-GWO algorithm is evaluated on a set of benchmark problems and engineering test problems to demonstrate its superior ability in solving global optimization problems.
