Assessment of aqueous phase ozonation on aggregation of polyvinylpyrrolidone-capped silver nanoparticles

Pegah Amiri et al.

Summary: The research indicated that ozone has different effects on the aggregation of bare silver nanoparticles and polyvinylpyrrolidone-capped silver nanoparticles, with the coating layer, pH, and ozonation time being the most influential variables. Ozone caused a greater aggregation of bare silver nanoparticles compared to polyvinylpyrrolidone-capped silver nanoparticles due to the interaction with the stabilizing layer. The surface charge of polyvinylpyrrolidone-capped silver nanoparticles shifted significantly during ozonation, requiring more treatment time to aggregate than bare silver nanoparticles.

Studies on structural and dielectric behaviour of PVA/PVP/SnO nanocomposites

V Siva et al.

Summary: Hybrid polymer nanocomposites based on PVA/PVP with SnO nanoparticles have been successfully prepared and characterized by XRD, FTIR, and SEM analysis. The addition of SnO nanoparticles increased the crystallinity and hydrogen bonding interaction in the polymer matrix. The high dielectric constant values were observed in PNCs with 1 wt% SnO addition at lower frequencies, with non-Debye behavior confirmed by argand plot and modulus analysis.

Harvesting Sub-Bandgap IR Photons by Photothermionic Hot Electron Transfer in a Plasmonic p-n Junction

Wenxing Yang et al.

Summary: Plasmonic semiconductors, with their bandgap and band-bending properties, offer new opportunities for energy upconversion processes and show potential advantages in hot carrier-based devices compared to plasmonic metals. The demonstration of rapid hot electron transfer and longer lifetime in a plasmonic p-n heterojunction showcases the potential of plasmonic semiconductors in utilizing near-IR photons and enhancing device performance.

Photo-thermal synergy for boosting photo-Fenton activity with rGO-ZnFe2O4: Novel photo-activation process and mechanism toward environment remediation

Lang Yang et al.

Summary: UV-vis-NIR light absorbance and photo-thermal conversion were induced into H2O2 activation using rGO-ZnFe2O4 catalyst, showing superior performance in degradation of refractory antibiotics compared to solely photoFenton or thermal-Fenton processes. The innovative strategy of utilizing solar energy in environmental remediation through photo-thermal Fenton reaction has strong potential in pollutants control.
