The Bias from Hydrodynamic Simulations: Mapping Baryon Physics onto Dark Matter Fields

Francesco Sinigaglia et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the hierarchy of baryon physics assembly bias relations obtained from state-of-the-art hydrodynamic simulations with respect to the underlying cosmic web spanned by the dark matter field. Using the Bias Assignment Method, nonlocal bias is found to play a central role. By classifying the cosmic web based on the invariants of the curvature tensor, the study shows that various baryonic properties can be statistically reconstructed within the simulated volume with high precision. This paves the way for future research in constructing mocks for large missions such as DESI, Euclid, J-PAS, and WEAVE.

The cosmology dependence of galaxy clustering and lensing from a hybrid N-body-perturbation theory model

Nickolas Kokron et al.

Summary: The researchers developed a model that combines dark matter dynamics with analytic bias expansion for analyzing the two-point statistics of biased tracers. They demonstrated the accuracy and applicability of their emulation procedure, showing its ability to describe complex tracer samples and fit clustering and lensing statistics effectively. The emulator is shown to be a promising tool for cosmological parameter inference and analysis of data from galaxy surveys.

Testing one-loop galaxy bias: Joint analysis of power spectrum and bispectrum

Alexander Eggemeier et al.

Summary: In this study, a joint likelihood analysis of the real-space power spectrum and bispectrum measured from various halo and galaxy mock catalogs is presented, validating the stringentness of the one-loop correction model for galaxy bias compared to the tree-level bispectrum model. The results show that the one-loop corrections roughly double the applicable range of scales, leading to significant improvements in constraints on the linear bias parameter and the amplitude of fluctuations A(s).
