Evolution of humic substances in polymerization of polyphenol and amino acid based on non-destructive characterization

Summary: This study investigated the role of MnO2 in the evolution of humic substances during oxidative polymerization and found a synergistic effect between MnO2 and O-2. The presence of MnO2 affected the structure of humification products, as demonstrated by C-13 NMR analysis. The results provided new insights into the theory of abiotic humification.
