Removal of cationic dye from coloured water by adsorption onto hematite-humic acid composite: Experimental and theoretical studies

Jamila El Gaayda et al.

Summary: The study investigated the application of hematite-HA composite as an efficient adsorbent for crystal violet dye. Both experimental and theoretical approaches were used to understand the interaction mechanism between the composite and the dye.

Cellulose-Based Hectocycle Nanopolymers: Synthesis, Molecular Docking and Adsorption of Difenoconazole from Aqueous Medium

Bayan Khalaf et al.

Summary: This study developed two cellulose-based heterocycles for water purification from toxic pesticides, and optimized their adsorption conditions. The maximum removal percentages for difenoconazole were found to be 94.7% and 96.6% for Cell-X and Cell-D, respectively. Adsorption followed a pseudo-second order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm, indicating high efficiency for difenoconazole removal.

Dye Removal from Colored Textile Wastewater Using Seeds and Biochar of Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.)

Fouad El Mansouri et al.

Summary: In this study, barley seeds and barley biochar were utilized for the removal of textile finishing dyes in aqueous solutions. The adsorption equilibrium data fitted well with Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models, and the adsorption process followed pseudo-second-order kinetics. Thermodynamic results showed that the removal of dyes on barley was endothermic and spontaneous.

Cellulose Powder Functionalized with Phenyl Biguanide: Synthesis, Cross-linking, Metal Adsorption, and Molecular Docking

Othman Hamed et al.

Summary: A cellulose polymer functionalized with an amine chelating agent was synthesized in a three-step process and evaluated as an adsorbent of toxic metal ions. The cross-linked cellulose amine polymer showed excellent efficiency toward over 15 metal ions present in a real sample of sewage, indicating promising potential as an alternative to current commercial adsorbents. Thermodynamic analysis and simulations confirmed the spontaneity and effectiveness of the metal ion adsorption process on the polymer surface.
