Molecular docking analysis and evaluation of the antibacterial and antioxidant activities of the constituents of Ocimum cufodontii

Muhdin Aliye et al.

Summary: Ocimum cufodontii has been traditionally used in Ethiopia for its antibacterial properties. The plant's extracts and essential oil were found to exhibit significant antibacterial and antioxidant activities, particularly against Staphylococcus aureus. Furthermore, molecular docking analysis suggested that the compounds in O. cufodontii may act as potential inhibitors of DNA gyrase. Overall, the findings indicate the plant's potential as a remedy for diseases caused by bacteria and radicals.

Synthesis, molecular docking, dynamic simulation and pharmacological characterization of potent multifunctional agent (dual GPR40-PPARγ agonist) for the treatment of experimental type 2 diabetes

Sergio Hidalgo-Figueroa et al.

Summary: The manuscript describes the design of two molecules targeting PPAR gamma and GPR40 receptors, with compound 1 showing strong activity in increasing mRNA expression levels of PPAR gamma, GLUT4, and GPR40. Additionally, compound 1 exhibited a moderate increase in insulin secretion and calcium mobilization. These findings suggest that compound 1 acts as a dual PPAR gamma and GPR40 agonist, offering better glycemic control than current treatments.
