Rapid Measurement of Cellulose, Hemicellulose, and Lignin Content in Sargassum horneri by Near-Infrared Spectroscopy and Characteristic Variables Selection Methods

Ning Ai et al.

Summary: Near-infrared spectroscopy and characteristic variables selection methods were used to develop a quick method for determining cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin contents in Sargassum horneri. Four characteristic variables selection methods were used to establish PLSR calibration models, which performed better than the full-PLSR model. The iPLS method showed the best performance among the models.

Preventive effects of traditional Chinese medicine formula Huoxiangzhengqi against lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammatory response

Min Gao et al.

Summary: In this study, it was found that pretreatment with HX can prevent inflammation induced by LPS, but it does not improve dysbiosis or intestinal local immunity. Furthermore, pretreatment with HX prevents the alterations in the expression levels of proteins related to the NF-Kappa B pathway induced by LPS.

A new strategy for discovering effective substances and mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine based on standardized drug containing plasma and the absorbed ingredients composition, a case study of Xian-Ling-Gu-Bao capsules

Zuo-chengy Qiu et al.

Summary: This study proposed and applied a comprehensive strategy to elucidate the interactions of multiple components underlying the functions of the famous TCM formula Xian-Ling-Gu-Bao (XLGB) on bone metabolism and osteoblasts. The findings revealed that XLGB regulates 18 major target genes and exhibits a synergistic osteogenic effect of multiple components. Target prediction and experimental validation indicated the activity of specific components on key receptors and enzymes involved in bone metabolism, providing insights into the underlying mechanisms of XLGB.

Identification of geographical origins of Panax notoginseng based on HPLC multi-wavelength fusion profiling combined with average linear quantitative fingerprint method

Jing Bai et al.

Summary: This study aimed to establish a method for geographical origins identification of Panax notoginseng (P. notoginseng) based on abundant chromatographic spectral information. The Multi-wavelength Fusion Profiling (MWFP) method was successfully applied to identify geographical origins of P. notoginseng, showing advantages over single-channel fingerprints. Through fusion fingerprint-efficacy relationship analysis, eight physiologically active components were identified from the most relevant ingredients of P. notoginseng geographical origins.
