Preparation and Electrochemical Performance of Three-Dimensional Vertically Aligned Graphene by Unidirectional Freezing Method

Peng Xia et al.

Summary: Three-dimensional vertically aligned graphene (3DVAG) prepared by a unidirectional freezing method shows a vertically ordered channel structure and exhibits superior electrochemical performances compared to random structure reduced graphene oxide (3DrGO), including higher specific capacitance, faster ion diffusion, and better rate performance. The constructed 3DVAG zinc-ion hybrid supercapacitor also demonstrates excellent electrochemical performance.

Carbon material/MnO2 as conductive skeleton for supercapacitor electrode material: A review

Tian Yue et al.

Summary: Supercapacitors, a new type of energy storage device, have attracted widespread attention in the field of energy and the environment. Composites based on carbon material/MnO2 have become a hotspot in electrode materials for supercapacitors, and the introduction of a third material can further enhance the properties of the composites. This paper provides a review and analysis of binary and ternary composites of carbon material/MnO2 and their applications, highlighting the need for a superposition of different dimensions and an optimum capacitive balance index for excellent performance. The paper also predicts the future trend of biomass activated carbon/low-dimensional carbon material (1D,2D)/MnO2 and new technologies such as graft oxidation and 3D printing. Finally, the challenges and development trends of multi-composites based on carbon material/MnO2 are summarized and predicted.

Dispersant Molecules with Functional Catechol Groups for Supercapacitor Fabrication

Kaelan Rorabeck et al.

Summary: In this study, cathodes for supercapacitors were prepared using MnO2 and carbon nanotubes as materials, and catecholate molecules as co-dispersants to improve capacitive properties. The adsorption of dispersants in ethanol facilitated efficient co-dispersion of the nanostructured components, leading to enhanced charge storage properties. The advanced capacitive properties were attributed to the microstructures of the electrodes prepared in the presence of dispersants.

Silver nanoparticles stabilized by ramnolipids: Effect of pH

Ana Maria Salazar-Bryam et al.

Summary: This study utilized rhamnolipids produced from glycerol to stabilize silver nanoparticles and found that different pH values during synthesis of silver nanoparticles in the presence of rhamnolipids directly influence nanoparticle size and stability. The results indicated that increasing pH enhanced the stability of silver nanoparticles and larger particles were formed at lower pH values.
