Monitoring the Remodeling of Biohybrid Tissue-Engineered Vascular Grafts by Multimodal Molecular Imaging

Elena Rama et al.

Summary: This study presents a comprehensive molecular imaging concept using MRI and US to monitor the remodeling process of tissue-engineered vascular grafts. MRI can quantitatively monitor scaffold resorption, while molecular MRI and molecular US can depict ECM remodeling and endothelial integrity. This approach facilitates the translation from in vitro assessment to in vivo applications and ensures proper prostheses engraftment.

Three-dimensional silk fibroin scaffolds incorporated with graphene for bone regeneration

Xili Ding et al.

Summary: By combining silk fibroin (SF) scaffolds with graphene, osteogenic scaffolds capable of accelerating bone formation were developed. Graphene affected the microarchitecture of the scaffolds, with the 0.5% graphene-doped SF scaffolds showing enhanced osteogenic properties. The results suggest that graphene-incorporated SF scaffolds could be a suitable option for bone tissue engineering.
