Dual recognition strategy for selective fluorescent detection of dopamine and antioxidants based on graphite carbon nitride in human blood serum

Yuning Yang et al.

Summary: A strong blue-emitting fluorescent biosensor based on GCNNs was synthesized and successfully applied for the detection of dopamine and antioxidants with low detection limits and good recovery rates. The dual recognition strategy of turn-off and turn off-on showed great promise for clinical applications.

Bio-inspired self-cleaning carbon cloth based on flower-like Ag nanoparticles and leaf-like MOF: A high-performance and reusable substrate for SERS detection of azo dyes in soft drinks

Qinzhi Wang et al.

Summary: A novel strategy was proposed to develop self-cleaning carbon cloth as a high-performance and reusable SERS substrate for effective monitoring of azo dyes in soft drinks. The substrate exhibited low limits of detection, wide linear detection range, self-cleaning property, and satisfactory recoveries in detecting CR, CYD, and AO II. This approach provides a potential and cost-effective solution for advanced SERS sensing devices.

Enantioselective SERS sensing of pseudoephedrine in blood plasma biomatrix by hierarchical mesoporous Au films coated with a homochiral MOF

Olga Guselnikova et al.

Summary: A new family of hierarchical porous hybrid materials was introduced for ultrasensitive and selective sensing of enantiomeric drugs in complex biosamples using chiral surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS). The hybrid hierarchical porous substrates showed extremely low limit of detection for pseudoephedrine in undiluted blood plasma, with dual enhancement mechanisms and chemical recognition. The combination of mesoporous Au and microporous AlaZnCl (HMOF) led to significant improvements in SERS signals for sensing applications.

A simple turn off-on ratio fluorescent probe for sensitive detection of dopamine and lysine/arginine

Guohua Mi et al.

Summary: A novel off-on single-excited dual-emissive ratio fluorescence sensor has been developed for highly selective and sensitive detection of dopamine and lysine/arginine. The fluorescence intensity ratio shows a linear relationship with dopamine concentration and has a low detection limit. Additionally, the sensor has been successfully applied for dopamine detection in human serum.

Mo-W-O nanowire intercalated graphene aerogel nanocomposite for the simultaneous determination of dopamine and tyrosine in human urine and blood serum sample

Vinitha Mariyappan et al.

Summary: In recent years, the number of people affected by neurotransmitter and amino acid-related diseases has increased, necessitating the monitoring of trace levels of neurotransmitters and amino acids. Transition bimetallic oxides and graphene aerogel-based Mo-W-O/GA nanocomposite sensors show promising performance in detecting dopamine and tyrosine simultaneously. Additionally, these sensors exhibit good sensitivity and selectivity for the precise sensing of dopamine and tyrosine in human biological samples.

Metal-organic frameworks for pesticidal persistent organic pollutants detection and adsorption - A mini review

Michal Wagner et al.

Summary: Global population growth has intensified anthropogenic processes, leading to pollution of both land and aquatic environments with toxic organic compounds, particularly persistent organic pollutants (POPs). Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are being studied as novel materials for the detection and adsorption of POPs, providing potential solutions for environmental monitoring and protection.

Preparation of magnetic metal organic framework: A magnetically induced improvement effect for detection of parathion-methyl

Anni Zhu et al.

Summary: Parathion-methyl (PTM), a highly toxic organophosphate insecticide once widely used in crop pest control, has been banned in fruit and vegetable production due to its health risks, although illegal abuse still occurs in some regions. A novel detection method using magnetic surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) with Au nanoparticles and cysteine modified Fe3O4 on a metal organic framework improves sensitivity and reproducibility in detecting PTM residue in juice, meeting European Union standards with a detection limit of 5 ppb and a linear range of 10^-11 to 10^-7 M.
