Hormesis Effect of Berberine against Klebsiella pneumoniae Is Mediated by Up-Regulation of the Efflux Pump KmrA

Summary: The study found that low concentrations of berberine can accelerate the growth of bacterial pathogens such as Klebsiella pneumoniae through hormesis, while higher concentrations have the opposite effect. The mechanisms of action of this drug at low concentrations are still poorly understood.
