Running magnetic resistance of high-Tc superconducting maglev prototype vehicle in an evacuated tube track

This study investigated the magnetic resistance of the high-temperature superconducting maglev train during operation, establishing the correlation between magnetic resistance, running speed, and magnetic field gradient. The results showed that both magnetic resistance and its rate of change increase with the increase of the magnetic field gradient.
Running magnetic resistance is an important content in the research of high-temperature superconducting (HTS) maglev train, but it has not been intensively studied so far. Based on the completely free suspension HTS maglev train system placed in an evacuated tube, we studied the magnetic resistance of the HTS maglev vehicle in operation. By measuring the speed attenuation curve of the maglev vehicle under different air pressure and magnetic field gradient, the behaviour of the magnetic resistance of the HTS maglev vehicle in operation is obtained, thereby establishing the correlation between the magnetic resistance (F-m), the running speed (v), and the amplitude of magnetic field gradient (G). The results show that both F-m & nbsp;and dF(m)/dv increase with the ascension of the amplitude of magnetic field gradient. In addition, the F-m-v curve presents two distinct rate change regions: in the low-speed region, the F-m & nbsp;increases rapidly with speed v, while in the high-speed region, the F-m increases slowly with speed.
