Innovative Approach to Evaluate the Mechanical Performance of Ti-6Al-4V Lattice Structures Produced by Electron Beam Melting Process

Giuseppe Del Guercio et al.

Summary: This study investigates the influence of geometry, dimension, and relative density of lattice structures on compressive strength. The experimental results show a close relationship between mechanical performance and investigated parameters. Contrary to current literature, lattice structures with similar relative density do not exhibit the same values of Young's modulus.

Heterogeneous Aspects of Additive Manufactured Metallic Parts: A Review

G. M. Karthik et al.

Summary: Metal additive manufacturing (MAM) is a new technology for producing complex metallic parts, and understanding the relationship between thermal cycles and microstructures in MAM parts is crucial. This review covers the evolution of microstructures in MAM parts and discusses residual stresses, anisotropy, and the effects of post-MAM heat treatment.

Evaluating Corrosion Resistance of Biomedical Ti-6Al-4 V Alloys Fabricated via Additive Manufacturing Using Electrochemical Critical Localized Corrosion Potential

Jae-Bong Lee et al.

Summary: This article introduces the properties of titanium and its alloys, as well as traditional and new manufacturing methods, showing that the mechanical performance of AM Ti alloys is superior to or comparable to those manufactured by SM. Building on this, a new standard E-CLCP is proposed for evaluating localized corrosion resistance, which is validated through sample testing in simulated physiological fluids.

Effect of direct aging on the microstructure and tensile properties of AlSi10Mg alloy manufactured by selective laser melting process

Tae-Hyun Park et al.

Summary: The research found that the AlSi10Mg alloy treated with DA exhibited superior tensile strength compared to the as-built and T6 alloys. However, the elongation of the DA alloy was slightly lower than that of the as-built alloy. Nevertheless, compared with conventional precipitate hardening Al-Si alloy, the DA alloy showed higher elongation.
