Significantly improved dielectric properties of TiO2 ceramics through acceptor-doping and Ar/H2 annealing

Pengfei Chen et al.

Summary: The study shows that the dielectric properties of acceptor-doped rutile TiO2 ceramics can be significantly improved through Ar/H-2 annealing, with Ga3+ identified as the most suitable dopant. Excellent dielectric properties were achieved in the 5 mol% Ga2O3-95 mol% TiO2 ceramic, including colossal and flat dielectric permittivity, low dielectric loss, and good frequency stability.

Summary: The structural and electrical parameters of CaCu2.90Ni0.10Ti4-xGexO12 ceramics were studied using solid-state reaction approach, revealing the significant improvement in dielectric permittivity and low loss tangents with the addition of Ge4+ ions, mainly due to an internal barrier layer capacitor effect.

Simultaneous two-step enhanced permittivity and reduced loss tangent in Mg/Ge-Doped CaCu3Ti4O12 ceramics

Jakkree Boonlakhorn et al.

Summary: The dielectric permittivity of CaCu3Ti4O12 was enhanced by doping with Mg at the Cu site, and further enhanced by codoping with Ge at the Ti site. The enhancement was attributed to the increased ratio of grain size to grain boundary thickness and increased free charge inside semiconducting grains. The double-step reduction in the low-frequency loss tangent was due to the enhanced resistance of the insulating grain boundaries from the segregation of the Cu-rich phase.

Colossal permittivity of (Gd plus Nb) co-doped TiO2 ceramics induced by interface effects and defect cluster

Zhenzhu Cao et al.

Summary: (Gd + Nb) co-doped TiO2 (GNTO) ceramics exhibit giant dielectric permittivity and low dielectric loss, with good temperature and frequency stability. The results suggest that internal barrier layer capacitance effect, electrode effect, and electron-pinned defect-dipole effect contribute to the colossal permittivity property simultaneously.

Dielectric properties of CaCu3Ti4O12 ceramics doped with aluminium and fluorine

Summary: The resistances of grain boundary and interface between sample and electrode increase with the combined introduction of Al3+ and F- ions. After 12 hours of sintering, a decrease in dielectric properties was observed due to copper losses. Samples sintered for 10 hours at 1 kHz exhibit specific dielectric parameters.

Effects of Lu3+ Doping on Microstructures and Electrical Properties of CaCu3Ti4O12 Ceramics

Summary: The study shows that Lu3+ doping inhibits grain growth of CCTO ceramics, affecting the dielectric constant which decreases first and then increases with Lu3+ content. The presence of Lu3+ increases defect concentrations, leading to different mechanisms contributing to dielectric response at different doping levels. Lu3+ doping also enhances nonlinear electrical properties, associated with cation vacancy defects in the grain boundary region.

First-principles calculations and experimental study of enhanced nonlinear and dielectric properties of Sn4+-doped CaCu2.95Mg0.05Ti4O12 ceramics

Jakkree Boonlakhorn et al.

Summary: By doping Sn4+, high dielectric permittivity and low loss tangent were achieved in CaCu2.95Mg0.05Ti4O12 ceramics, along with improvements in breakdown electric field and nonlinear coefficient. Reduction in the Cu+/Cu2+ ratio led to increased resistivities of grains and grain boundaries, resulting in improved nonlinear electrical properties.
