Inducing liquid crystallinity in dilute MXene dispersions for facile processing of multifunctional fibers

Ken Aldren S. Usman et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that the addition of cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) can induce liquid crystal (LC) phases in dilute MXene dispersions, even at concentrations significantly below its own LC threshold. This approach lowers the concentration and size threshold for MXene solution processing into robust macro-architectures and improves the properties of LC-MXene fibers.
