Colorimetric determination of Listeria monocytogenes using aptamer and urease dual-labeled magnetic nanoparticles and cucurbit[7] uril-mediated supramolecular assembly of gold nanoparticle

Xuechen Wang et al.

Summary: A host-guest colorimetric strategy has been developed for the detection of Listeria monocytogenes. The method involves the use of optical probes based on the interactions between cucurbit[7]uril portals and gold nanoparticles, as well as the use of aptamer and urease modified magnetic nanoparticles. The strategy allows for sensitive and specific determination of L. monocytogenes down to a concentration of 10 cfu.mL(-1).

A colorimetric lateral flow assay based on multiplex PCR for the rapid detection of viable Escherichia coli O157:H7 and Salmonella Typhimurium without enrichment

Jin-Hee Kim et al.

Summary: By utilizing mPCR-LFA in combination with concentration methods, the sensitivity of detecting Escherichia coli O157:H7 and Salmonella Typhimurium was significantly improved. The study results demonstrate that this approach can rapidly and accurately detect these foodborne pathogens within a short period of time.

Effect of cinnamon essential oil nanoemulsions on microbiological safety and quality properties of chicken breast fillets during refrigerated storage

Wenwen Wang et al.

Summary: The study found that cinnamon essential oil nanoemulsions can effectively inhibit microbial growth in chicken breast fillets during storage at 4 degrees Celsius, and improve the quality attributes of refrigerated chicken fillets. In terms of sensory properties, HCON-treated fillets scored highest.

In Silico Development of Novel Chimeric Lysins with Highly Specific Inhibition against Salmonella by Computer-Aided Design

Ting Nie et al.

Summary: Four novel chimeric lysins, obtained through bioinformatics analysis and in silico design, showed highly specific inhibition against Salmonella at low concentrations. The combination of these lysins reduced microbial counts in contaminated food and extended shelf life.
