A comprehensive experimental study on tribological performance of piston ring-cylinder liner pair

Zhan Liu et al.

Summary: This study comprehensively explored the influence of oil dilution, cylinder liner surface coating, and working conditions on the friction and wear of the piston ring-cylinder liner pair using the orthogonal test method. The results showed that moderate oil dilution improves performance, while excessive dilution has the opposite effect. Additionally, using DLC-coated piston rings and Fe-based coated cylinder liners can significantly enhance the scuffing resistance performance of the piston ring-cylinder liner pair.

Online measurement of piston-assembly friction with wireless IMEP method under fired conditions and comparison with numerical analysis

Chengwei Wen et al.

Summary: This paper introduces an improved wireless IMEP technique for measuring piston-assembly friction under fired conditions, which indirectly obtains friction data by measuring cylinder pressure, connecting rod force, crank position, and engine speed. Despite facing challenges in signal synchronization, noise control, and system reliability, this technique can be applied for direct performance evaluation of piston assembly in the future.

Mixed elastohydrodynamic analysis of a coupled journal-thrust bearing system in a rotary compressor under high ambient pressure

Ruichao Liu et al.

Summary: The study showed that the bearings of the hermetic rotary compressor work under high ambient pressure, and taking into account the deformation of the crankshaft can more accurately estimate the wear of the thrust bearing. Furthermore, high ambient pressure is the leading cause of thrust bearing wear.
