Heterologous versus homologous COVID-19 booster vaccination in previous recipients of two doses of CoronaVac COVID-19 vaccine in Brazil (RHH-001): a phase 4, non-inferiority, single blind, randomised study

Sue Ann Costa Clemens et al.

Summary: A study was conducted to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of a third dose of heterologous or homologous vaccines in Brazilian adults who had previously received two doses of CoronaVac. The results showed that a third dose of heterologous vaccines (recombinant adenoviral vectored vaccine or mRNA vaccine) significantly increased immune responses and could improve protection against infection.

Immune response to SARS-CoV-2 after a booster of mRNA-1273: an open-label phase 2 trial

Laurence Chu et al.

Summary: The results of the study demonstrate that a booster dose of mRNA-1273 administered more than 6 months after the primary vaccination series is safe and leads to significantly higher levels of neutralizing antibodies, potentially increasing vaccine effectiveness against SARS-CoV-2 infection and disease.

Longitudinal clinico-serological analysis of anti-nucleocapsid and anti-receptor binding domain of spike protein antibodies against SARS-CoV-2

Gururaj Rao Deshpande et al.

Summary: This study evaluated antibody responses to SARS-CoV-2 infection in COVID-19 patients up to 8 months post-infection, finding a steep increase in antibody titers till 40 days post onset of disease, followed by a partial decline till 240 days. Severe cases were associated with stronger antibody responses, and most cases maintained antibody responses for up to 8 months post onset of disease, indicating robust protection against re-infection.
