A passive evaporative cooling heat sink method for enhancing low-grade waste heat recovery capacity of thermoelectric generators

Liang Jun Zheng et al.

Summary: This study utilized a novel PECHS to enhance the waste heat recovery capacity of a TEG, establishing a theoretical model to analyze the effects of key parameters on the TEG output capacity. The results indicated that the output capacity is positively correlated with T-H and L-f, while inversely correlated with RH, T-amb, and t(f). Additionally, the impact of increasing L-f on the cooling capability of the PECHS and the influence of RH on the TEG output capacity were discussed.

Evaluation of heat sink performance using PCM and vapor chamber/heat pipe

A. Ghanbarpour et al.

Summary: This paper presents a numerical study on heat sink thermal performance using phase change materials (PCM) and a vapor chamber for heat source cooling, finding that in natural convection, adding PCM and vapor chamber effectively reduces the heat source temperature, while in forced convection, the vapor chamber has a more significant effect and adding PCM may adversely affect heat sink performance.

Study of the performance of an integrated liquid cooling heat sink for high-power IGBTs

Minqiang Pan et al.

Summary: Research shows that the VC integrated heat sink has lower thermal resistance compared to the VC separated heat sink, and the relatively simple microchannel heat sink can significantly enhance temperature uniformity. Moreover, cooling water flow rate, temperature, and inclination angle all have an impact on the performance of the VC integrated heat sink, with the optimal performance observed at an inclination angle of 60 degrees.

Application of an ecofriendly nanofluid containing graphene nanoplatelets inside a novel spiral liquid block for cooling of electronic processors

Mehdi Bahiraei et al.

Summary: This study compares the efficiency of a novel spiral liquid block with other types of liquid blocks for cooling electronic processors. The spiral liquid block demonstrates superior cooling efficiency under constant pumping power. The addition of biologically produced nanofluid with graphene nanoplatelets in the liquid block can significantly reduce CPU surface temperature and thermal resistance.

Thermal-hydraulic analysis and irreversibility of the MWCNTs-SiO2/EG-H2O non-Newtonian hybrid nanofluids inside a zigzag micro-channels heat sink

Abdulwahab A. Alnaqi et al.

Summary: This study investigates the cooling effect of a micro-heat sink using hybrid nanofluids, and explores the impacts of different factors on thermal hydraulic and irreversibility. The results show that increasing flow velocity enhances heat dissipation, while increasing zigzag channel length improves surface heat transfer but also increases pressure drop. Additionally, higher nanoparticle and MWCNTs concentrations lead to increased viscosity and pumping power.

Employing a new micro-spray model and (MWCNTs - SWCNTs) - H2O nanofluid on Si-IGBT power module for energy storage: A numerical simulation

M. Gholinia et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of using a cooling fluid and micro-sprays to reduce the heat peak of the electrical system. Increasing the volume fraction of nanoparticles can elevate the thermal diffusivity of the fluid and reduce the temperature peak. Using micro spray can create turbulent fluid behavior, leading to hydrodynamic effects prevailing over thermal effects and reducing module temperature.
