Electrochemical study on nickel aluminum layered double hydroxides as high-performance electrode material for lithium-ion batteries based on sodium alginate binder

Xinyue Li et al.

Summary: NiAl LDH electrode with SA binder exhibits high initial discharge specific capacity and good stability in the potential range of 0.01-3.0 V vs. Li+/Li, outperforming PVDF-based electrodes. Ex situ XPS and XAS studies reveal a conversion reaction mechanism during Li+ insertion, and XRD and XPS analysis help understand the Li-ion storage mechanism under different cutoff potentials.

Remediation of chromium-contaminated soil using calcined layered double hydroxides containing different divalent metals: Temperatures and mechanism

Jialing Zhao et al.

Summary: By calcining MgAl and CaAl at different temperatures, they can effectively immobilize Cr(VI) in the soil. Mg-500 degrees C and Ca-900 degrees C show good adsorption capacities, while the structures after high temperature treatment have poor adsorption performance for Cr(VI).

Removal of sulfate from wastewater via synthetic Mg-Al layered double hydroxide: An adsorption, kinetics, and thermodynamic study

Mir Tamzid Rahman et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that synthetic LDHs, LDH 4Mg2Al·NO3 and LDH 8Mg2Al·NO3, are capable of effectively adsorbing SO42- from an aqueous solution, with maximum adsorption values of 135.14 and 92.59 mg/g, respectively. The process follows the Langmuir adsorption model and is primarily controlled by a pseudo-second-order mechanism.

Multi-functional silica-based mesoporous materials for simultaneous delivery of biologically active ions and therapeutic biomolecules

Hui Zhu et al.

Summary: In summary, mesoporous silica-based materials, especially MBGs, are promising for biomedical applications due to their bioactivity, biocompatibility, tunable composition, and controllable nanoporosity. Research has shown that MBGs can be doped with therapeutic ions and loaded with specific biomolecules to achieve controllable drug release kinetics. Co-delivery of ions and biomolecules using MBGs can offer synergistic effects for improved therapeutic outcomes.
