TiO2/graphene nanocomposite supported on clinoptilolite nanoplate and its enhanced visible light photocatalytic activity

Ghader Hosseinzadeh et al.

Summary: The TiO2/graphene nanocomposite supported on clinoptilolite nanoplate prepared by hydrothermal method showed significantly higher photocatalytic degradation efficiency for nitenpyram insecticide under visible light, mainly due to the advantages of clinoptilolite and graphene, such as microporous structure and enhancement of effective surface area. The hydroxyl radicals were identified as the main active species responsible for the photocatalytic degradation of nitenpyram. This study provides a new insight for fabricating more effective zeolite and graphene-based nanocomposite photocatalysts for environmental remediation.

Rapid and green combustion synthesis of nanocomposites based on Zn-Co-O nanostructures as photocatalysts for enhanced degradation of acid brown 14 contaminant under sunlight

Sahar Zinatloo-Ajabshir et al.

Summary: The study introduces an efficient magnetic separable structure as a visible light photocatalyst for practical use to eliminate organic contaminants. The use of diverse saccharides as capping agents and fuels resulted in the successful fabrication of magnetic separable zinc-cobalt mixed-metal oxides as visible light photocatalysts. These nanostructures exhibited superb catalytic activity, with almost 94.3% of acid brown 14 being decomposed within 75 minutes, offering a feasible and eco-friendly approach for environmental remediation.

Innovative synthesis of a novel ZnO/ZnBi2O4/graphene ternary heterojunction nanocomposite photocatalyst in the presence of tragacanth mucilage as natural surfactant

Ghader Hosseinzadeh et al.

Summary: Developing interfacial connections is an important strategy to improve the photocatalytic activity of graphene/p-n heterojunction systems. In this study, natural tragacanth mucilage was used as a surfactant to prepare a highly efficient ZnO-ZnBi2O4/graphene hybrid photocatalyst. The results showed that the hybrid photocatalyst exhibited significantly higher degradation efficiency compared to other samples, which could be attributed to the advantages of natural mucilage, such as uniform distribution of nanoparticles, increased surface area, and improved charge carriers separation. This study provides new insights for the fabrication of more efficient graphene-based hybrid photocatalytic systems.
