The Creep Properties of Paper

J. P. Brezinski

Summary: The creep properties of alpha-pulp hundsheets were studied under various constant tensile loads and relative humidities. The delayed creep deformation of the handsheets was found to have two types, which differed in time, recoverability, and dependence on relative humidity. The creep behavior observed was not consistent with mechanisms involving fiber reorientation or fiber-fiber bond rupture.

A compressible plasticity model for pulp fibers under transverse load

Summary: The study reveals that the transverse behavior of pulp fibers exhibits plastic deformation and nonlinear elasticity, attributed to the nanoporous structure of fibers. Based on this finding, a numerical model was established, showing good agreement with experimental data, indicating the characteristics of pulp fibers.

Investigation of transient mass transport induced deformation of PEGDA hydrogel in photocurable solution

Summary: Hydrogels are suitable for tissue engineering scaffold materials due to their biocompatibility, hydrophilia, and efficient mass transport. However, ensuring dimension accuracy in printing complex hydrogel scaffold is difficult due to solvent migration in the gel. A model has been established to describe multiple solvents mass transport in gel, which can help to improve dimensional accuracy for printing hydrogels.
