Minimum Energy Control of a Unicycle Model Robot

Youngjin Kim et al.

Summary: The study focuses on point-to-point path planning in an obstacle-free environment for a differential-drive wheeled mobile robot with the goal of minimizing input energy. An optimal control problem is formulated using Jacobi elliptic functions to solve a two-point boundary value problem and compared to traditional shooting methods. Experimental results validate the optimal trajectories of the differential-drive robot.
