SrAl2O4 crystallite embedded inorganic medium with super-long persistent luminescence, thermoluminescence, and photostimulable luminescence for smart optical information storage

Panpan Li et al.

Summary: This paper investigates SrAl2O4: Eu2+, Dy3+ inorganic solid material with comparable long persistent luminescence (LPL) properties to powder materials. The crystallization mechanism and crystallite micro-morphology of inorganic glass materials are studied, showing that large-size SrAl2O4 crystallites in the glass matrix are stacked by rod-shaped crystals arranged in a regular direction. The obtained glass material not only collects high-energy photons but also responds to low-energy sunlight. Superior performance in LPL, thermoluminescence, and photostimulable luminescence is observed. A new application of this material in the field of information storage is explored, providing reference value for the development and application of aluminate LPL materials in smart optical information storage.

An effective Fe(ii) doping strategy for stable and highly photoluminescent CsPbBrI2 nanocrystals

Yanbin Chen et al.

Summary: Doping Fe2+ ions into CsPbBrI2 nanocrystals successfully produced strong red-emitting and highly stable materials with enhanced photoluminescence quantum yield. Fe2+ doping induced lattice contraction, reduced bond length, suppressed distortion, and improved stability; it also suppressed halide vacancies and optimized the relaxation process of the crystal, leading to enhanced photoluminescence.

Structural, thermal and light emission properties of Eu, Sm, Dy, Er and Mn doped CaAl2O4 and SrAl2O4

Puneet Kaur et al.

Summary: Powder samples containing 1 mol% Re2O3/MnO and 99 mol% MAl2O4 (Re = Eu, Sm, Dy, Er and M = Ca and Sr) were prepared by solid state sintering at temperatures ranging from 1386 to 1450 ℃. The samples showed different structural, thermal, and photoluminescence properties, with calcium aluminate samples exhibiting higher luminescence intensity and quantum yield compared to strontium aluminates. Additionally, strontium aluminate samples displayed a reversible monoclinic to hexagonal structural phase transition during the heating cycle at 688℃.

Synthesis of Eu doped SrAl2O4 composite: adsorption characteristics on tetracycline and ciprofloxacin antibiotics

Busra Turan et al.

Summary: The study evaluated and characterized Eu-Strontium aluminate (SrAl2O4) composites using volume combustion synthesis method. Tetracycline and ciprofloxacin were absorbed by the composites with capacities of 26.24 mg g(-1) and 7.10 mg g(-1) respectively. Pseudo-second order kinetic model well described the adsorption process, with highest adsorption occurring at pH 7 (98%) for TC and at pH 10 (80%) for CIP. Eu-SrAl2O4 composite is considered a good option for removing various types of antibiotics from wastewater.
