Design of a High-Efficiency and -Gain Antenna Using Novel Low-Loss, Temperature-Stable Li2Ti1-x (Cu1/3Nb2/3)xO3 Microwave Dielectric Ceramics

Huan-Huan Guo et al.

Summary: Microwave dielectric ceramics with excellent properties such as high quality factor, low sintering temperature, small density, and good temperature stability were achieved by incorporating (Cu1/3Nb2/3)(4+) substitution and 3 wt % H3BO3 addition in Li2TiO3. The resulting LTCN0.2 + 3 wt % H3BO3 materials showed promising applications for SG mobile communication devices and low-temperature co-fired ceramic technology. Additionally, they were chemically compatible with silver and exhibited high simulated radiation efficiencies and gains in patch antenna and dielectric resonator antenna designs.

Summary: Composite ceramics of (1-x)wt%CaSnSiO5-xwt%K2MoO4 were fabricated by cold sintering process, where X-ray diffraction, Energy dispersive X-ray, and Raman spectroscopy confirmed the coexistence of CSSO and KMO without intermediate phases. With an increase in KMO weight fraction, the microwave performance of the ceramic composites improved.

Characterization of microwave and terahertz dielectric properties of single crystal La2Ti2O7 along one single direction

Man Zhang et al.

Summary: This study focused on the dielectric properties of a single crystal La2Ti2O7 material in the microwave and terahertz bands, revealing its dielectric characteristics along a single crystallographic direction. The decrease in dielectric permittivity with increasing frequency is related to dielectric relaxation processes occurring from radio frequency to microwave and then to terahertz bands.

Thermally-stimulated defect relaxations and microwave/terahertz dielectric response of La,Al co-doped (Ba,Sr)La4Ti4O15 ceramics

Yu Luo et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigated the thermally-stimulated relaxation of defects in La,Al co-substituted (Ba,Sr)La4Ti4O15 dielectric ceramics with a hexagonal perovskite structure. The ion substitution decreased lattice parameters and bond lengths, leading to a decrease in the concentration of oxygen vacancies and damping factor of lattice vibration, ultimately reducing microwave/terahertz dielectric loss. High-performance ceramics with specific properties were obtained, and the correlations between crystal structures, defect behaviors, and dielectric properties discussed in this work could guide the modification of microwave dielectric ceramics.

Temperature stable Sm(Nb1-xVx)O4 (0.0 ≤ x ≤ 0.9) microwave dielectric ceramics with ultra-low dielectric loss for dielectric resonator antenna applications

Fang-Fang Wu et al.

Summary: The study found that V5+ substitution can induce the phase transition of Sm(Nb1-xVx)O-4 from monoclinic to tetragonal phase, effectively reducing the transition temperature. TEM analysis revealed the presence of two different orientation domain structures in the monoclinic phase, with the widths of these structures decreasing with an increase in B-site substitution. Furthermore, the variations in dielectric properties and resonance frequency temperature coefficient were strongly correlated with crystal distortion and phase transition.
