Mesoporous Materials-Based Electrochemical Biosensors from Enzymatic to Nonenzymatic

Xuanyu Yang et al.

Summary: Mesoporous materials have gained increasing attention in biosensors for their high surface area, large pore volumes, tunable pore sizes, and abundant frameworks. Advances in mesoporous materials-based biosensors, from enzymatic to nonenzymatic approaches, have been highlighted, showing the potential to stabilize enzymes and mimic enzyme behavior for electrochemical sensing of biomolecules. Challenges and future perspectives in developing biosensors based on mesoporous materials are also discussed.

Solar Cell-Powered Electrochemical Methane-to-Methanol Conversion with CuO/CeO2 Catalysts

Jaehyun Lee et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated the efficient conversion of CH4 to CH3OH at room temperature using CuO/CeO2 catalyst in the presence of CO32-, with the optimal Cu:Ce ratio being 6:4. Isotope experiments confirmed that active oxygen provided by CO32- on the catalyst surface can activate CH4 to form CH3OH.
