Investigation of isotropic radiation of low energy X-ray intra-operative radiotherapy by MAGAT gel dosimeter

Zahra Alyani Nezhad et al.

Summary: The isotropic radiation accuracy of low energy X-ray IORT spherical applicators was evaluated using a three-dimensional gel dosimeter. The study found that the relative dose deviations from the average were within the acceptance limit of isotropy radiation, demonstrating the isotropic radiation emission of X-ray IORT. The use of gel dosimeters and a specifically designed phantom effectively addressed the challenges in measuring the isotropic radiation of IORT X-ray sources.

A novel investigation of the effect of different concentrations of methacrylic acid on the dose response of MAGAT gel dosimeter in intraoperative radiotherapy

Zahra Alyani Nezhad et al.

Summary: The study investigated the dose response of MAGAT gel dosimeter with varying concentrations of methacrylic acid, leading to the discovery that MAGAT with 8% MAA concentration exhibited high dose sensitivity under IORT irradiation. Additionally, the response of MAGAT was found to be independent of dose rates and energy levels.
