Implant survival and biologic complications of implant fixed complete dental prostheses: An up to 5-year retrospective study

Konstantinos Chochlidakis et al.

Summary: This retrospective study aimed to assess the implant survival and biologic complications of implant fixed complete dental prostheses (IFCDPs). The results showed that metal-acrylic resin prostheses were more likely to have soft tissue hypertrophy and plaque accumulation, while peri-implant mucositis was more common in maxillary patients and peri-implantitis was more common in mandibular implants.

Mechanical complications of implant-supported complete-arch restorations and impact on patient quality of life: A retrospective cohort study

Alba Sanchez-Torres et al.

Summary: This retrospective cohort study aimed to assess the impact of technical or mechanical complications on patient perception and quality of life in complete-arch implant-supported prostheses. The results indicated that minor mechanical complications did not significantly affect patient satisfaction and quality of life.

Dynamic-Assisted Navigational System in Zygomatic Implant Surgery: A Qualitative and Quantitative Systematic Review of Current Clinical and Cadaver Studies

Shaqayeq Ramezanzade et al.

Summary: This systematic review found that dynamic navigation in placing zygomatic implants has higher accuracy and reduced risk of perioperative/postoperative complications compared to freehand implant placement. However, evidence regarding the reliability and accuracy of dynamic navigation technique in multicenter large randomized and prospective controlled studies is still lacking.

Accuracy of dynamic navigation in implant surgery: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Shi-Min Wei et al.

Summary: The meta-analysis of ten studies showed that dynamic computer-assisted implant surgery achieves clinically acceptable accuracy. There were no significant differences found between different jaw types, guidance methods, and systems. However, more patient-centered outcomes and socio-economic benefits should be reported for further evaluation.

Accuracy of static computer-assisted implant placement in long span edentulous area by novice implant clinicians: A cross-sectional in vitro study comparing fully-guided, pilot-guided, and freehand implant placement protocols

Jaafar Abduo et al.

Summary: In this study, it was found that fully-guided placement was significantly more accurate than pilot-guided and freehand placements for novice clinicians. Pilot-guided placement was more accurate than freehand placement for horizontal platform and apex deviations, as well as interimplant distance deviation. Fully-guided placement showed consistent accuracy regardless of implant location or horizontal deviations of the platform and apex.

Comparing patient-reported outcomes and experiences among static, dynamic computer-aided, and conventional freehand dental implant placement: A randomized clinical trial

Sunida Engkawong et al.

Summary: This study compared patient-reported outcomes and experiences among three dental implant placement techniques and found that patients' expectations and experiences varied among groups. However, there was no significant difference in postoperative pain and swelling levels between the techniques, and most patients were satisfied with the overall procedure.
