Structural and optical properties along with magnetization reversal and bipolar switching in CeCr1-xFexO3 (x=0 and 0.05) nanoparticles

Manish Yadav et al.

Summary: Nano-crystalline CeCr1-xFexO3 (x = 0 and 0.05) compounds crystallized in orthorhombic structure, with Fe substitution leading to an expansion of lattice parameter and lattice volume. Optical band gap decreased from 2.9 eV to 2.6 eV, while magnetic properties showed changes such as Neel temperature decrease and appearance of peculiar features like compensation temperature and spin reorientation temperature. These properties make the material suitable for magnetic switching and photocatalytic applications.

Effect of lattice strain on magnetism in epitaxial YCrO3 films

Binod Paudel et al.

Summary: This study investigates the influence of lattice strain on the magnetism of perovskite rare-earth chromite, YCrO3 (YCO) thin films. The combined theoretical and experimental approach reveals a correlation between lattice strain and magnetic properties in YCO films. The findings demonstrate the controllable functionalities of perovskite rare-earth chromites and related material systems using lattice strain.

Crystal growth engineering and origin of the weak ferromagnetism in antiferromagnetic matrix of orthochromates from t-e orbital hybridization

Yinghao Zhu et al.

Summary: We present a study on the magnetic properties of quasiferroelectric orthochromates using a combination of experimental and theoretical approaches. Large single crystals of RECrO3 compounds were grown successfully, and their quality was confirmed through neutron Laue study. Magnetization measurements under applied magnetic field and temperature dependence revealed intrinsic magnetic properties, with a focus on the antiferromagnetic transition temperatures. Theoretical density functional theory calculations were performed to study the electronic structures of the compounds, and systematic optimization was carried out for crystallographic information and magnetism. Our research unravels the anisotropic t-e orbital hybridization and its effect on the magnetic anisotropy of Cr3+ sublattices. The findings shed light on the coexistence of weak ferromagnetism and predominant antiferromagnetism in these materials.

Raman scattering, electronic transport and dielectric features of Co-doped DyCrO3

Aref A. A. Qahtan et al.

Summary: The impact of cobalt (Co) doping on the physical features and conduction mechanism of DyCrO3 in the DyCr1-xCoxO3 system synthesized through sol-gel auto-combustion process was investigated. Various analyses such as X-ray diffraction, Raman spectra, and TEM images confirmed the structural distortion and nano-sized spherical particles due to Co doping. The resistivity decrease, dielectric peak, and temperature dependence of the conduction mechanism were observed with increasing Co doping, suggesting a correlation between Co doping and changes in physical properties and conduction mechanism in this system.

G-type antiferromagnetism of Mn ions in A-site-ordered perovskite LaMn3Rh4O12 and La0.8Ca0.2Mn3Rh4O12

Meiyan Ni et al.

Summary: A-site-ordered perovskites LaMn3Rh4O12 and La0.8Ca0.2Mn3Rh4O12 were prepared using high-pressure and high temperature method. Structural and BVS analyses showed that the valence states of Mn and Rh ions are both +3, while partial Ca-doping introduced Mn4+ ions and there is no interaction between Mn and Rh ions.
