Multicomponent Reactions in Polymer Chemistry Utilizing Heavier Main Group Elements

Bryan T. Tuten et al.

Summary: This concise overview provides insights into the use of heavier main group elements in multicomponent reactions and polymer chemistry, focusing on the properties of Group 13, Group 14, Group 15, and Group 16 elements. It briefly explores elements that participate in the reaction mechanism and remain in the macromolecular structure. State-of-the-art work in developing these reactions is highlighted, aiming to inspire other polymer chemists to explore different parts of the periodic table.

Perovskite solar cells with atomically coherent interlayers on SnO2 electrodes

Hanul Min et al.

Summary: By introducing an interlayer between the electron-transporting and perovskite layers in perovskite solar cells, researchers have successfully enhanced charge extraction and transport from the perovskite, leading to higher power conversion efficiency and fewer interfacial defects. The coherent interlayer allowed the fabrication of devices with a certified efficiency of 25.5%, which maintained about 90% of its initial efficiency even after continuous light exposure for 500 hours. The findings provide guidelines for designing defect-minimizing interfaces in metal halide perovskites and electron-transporting layers.

SnO2/TiO2 Electron Transporting Bilayers: A Route to Light Stable Perovskite Solar Cells

Mousa Abuhelaiqa et al.

Summary: Perovskite solar cells have driven a paradigm shift in photovoltaic research, but device stability remains a challenge. This study investigates the degradation at the ETL/perovskite interface, finding that SnO2 and TiO2/SnO2 ETLs show long-term stability compared to TiO2. SnO2 exhibits a passivation effect in the bilayered ETL configuration, suppressing charge recombination and enhancing optical durability.

Electron Beam Irradiation of Lead Halide Perovskite Solar Cells: Dedoping of Organic Hole Transport Materials despite Hardness of the Perovskite Layer

Yoshiyuki Murakami et al.

Summary: The impact of EB radiation on the performance of PSCs was studied, revealing a decrease in power conversion efficiency while the photoconductivities of individual layers remained intact. Significant dedoping of the HTM layer was observed, which could be partially restored through exposure to short-wavelength light. This study demonstrates the resilience of perovskite against EB and sheds light on the degradation mechanism of overall PSC performance.
