Optical Properties of Cd-Alloyed CsPbBr3 Nanorods

This study investigates the optical properties of Cd-alloyed perovskite nanorods and reveals their strong electron-phonon coupling strength and fast hot carrier cooling time. The Cd-alloyed nanorods display reduced Auger lifetime and two-photon absorption compared to bare CsPbBr3 nanorods.
One-dimensional semiconductor nanorods (NRs) have beenwidely used for various high-performance optoelectronic applications, but theiroptical properties are still not fully revealed. In this work, we have studied theoptical properties of Cd-alloyed perovskite NRs, i.e., CsPb0.2Cd0.8Br3. On thebasis of careful analysis of the temperature-dependent photoluminescence (PL)data, it is found that Cd-alloyed NRs exhibit strong electron-phonon couplingstrength. As a consequence, fast hot carrier cooling time is observed in thealloyed NRs. In addition, compared with the reported bare CsPbBr3NRs,reduced Auger lifetime and two-photon absorption (2PA) are observed in thealloyed NRs. As a result, the Cd-alloyed perovskite NRs may be not promisingfor the application in two-photon pumped amplified stimulated emission. Thesenewfindings may deepen the understanding of the optical properties in the Cd-alloyed perovskite NRs.
