Summary: The newly synthesized iridium(III) complex Ir-DNBS is utilized as a highly selective and sensitive probe for thiophenol detection, based on a thiolate-mediated nucleophilic elimination reaction mechanism. The probe exhibits noticeable orange-red fluorescence in a PBS/DCM/DMSO solution upon addition of thiophenol, with a large Stokes shift and long lifetime. Its practical application for thiophenol detection in real water samples and human serum has also been successfully demonstrated.

A highly selective sequential recognition probe for Zn2+ and HSO4-/H2PO4- based on a diarylethene chemosensor

Summary: The novel diarylethene derivative chemosensor DTP-o connected to Schiff base unit was successfully designed and synthesized, showing excellent photochromism and fluorometric sensing towards Zn2+ with a detection limit of 5.62 x 10(-7) M. The DTP-o-Zn2+ complex exhibited a fluorescent relay-response towards HSO4- and H2PO4- with high sensitivity and selectivity, with detection limits as low as 3.04 x 10(-8) M and 3.41 x 10(-8) M, respectively. Additionally, the sensor could be applied for accurate detection of Zn2+ in practical samples and test strips.
