Small amplitude water wave propagation through mangrove forests having thin viscoelastic mud layer

Arijit Das et al.

Summary: The effect of a thin viscoelastic mud layer on wave propagation through mangrove forests has been analyzed in this study. The dispersion relation and attenuation rate have been determined, and the impact of physical parameters on wave attenuation and propagation, such as viscosity and shear modulus of the mud, density of the forest, and depth of the mud, has been examined. This model provides a realistic and significant approach to understanding water wave propagation through mangrove forests.

Computational fluid dynamic analysis of wind flow around Mangrove roots to reduce the damage due to heavy wind

Sini Rahuman et al.

Summary: The research analyzed wind flow around Pneumatophores Mangrove Roots of the Avicennia Marina mangrove species to understand how the roots can reduce wind speed by 70%, thereby protecting the coast from cyclones, typhoons, hurricanes, mudslides, and storm surges. Simulation using ANSYS Fluent software showed promising results for designing breakwater models and improving existing ones.
