Polyimide/ZIFs mixed matrix membranes with tunable interfacial interaction for efficient gas separation

6FDA-DAM:DABA Co-Polyimide Mixed Matrix Membranes with GO and ZIF-8 Mixtures for Effective CO2/CH4 Separation

Summary: This study presents the gas separation evaluation of 6FDA-DAM:DABA (3:1) co-polyimide and its enhanced mixed matrix membranes with graphene oxide (GO) and ZIF-8 nanoparticles. The addition of GO (1 wt.%)/ZIF-8 (10 wt.%) significantly improved the CO2 permeability, but the selectivity decreased due to non-selective filler-polymer interfacial voids. The hybrid membranes showed good performance stability close to the upper bound in 2019 under different feed pressure conditions.
