Design of Z-scheme g-C3N4/BC/Bi25FeO40 photocatalyst with unique electron transfer channels for efficient degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride waste

Zhi-Peng Ma et al.

Summary: In this study, a composite material g-C3N4/BC/Bi25FeO40 was prepared using biochar as the conductive channel, which significantly increased electron transfer rate and provided more active sites for electron transfer. The successful construction of an effective Z-scheme heterojunction led to excellent photocatalytic activity, with a degradation efficiency of 92.2% for tetracycline hydrochloride within 60 minutes. The composite material showed good reusability and high efficiency across a wide pH range of 3-11, attributed to the rapid photoelectron transfer and excellent adsorption capacity of biochar.
