Recyclable Magnetic Fluorescence Sensor Based on Fe3O4 and Carbon Dots for Detection and Purification of Methcathinone in Sewage

Jiang Ling et al.

Summary: In this study, a dual functional and recyclable magnetic fluorescent molecularly imprinted polymers (MFMIPs) sensor was developed for sensitive and rapid detection and purification of methcathinone in sewage. The sensor exhibited high sensitivity and selectivity, and could be used for monitoring drug prevalence and consumption in a certain region, as well as the assay of methcathinone in sewage samples. The MFMIPs sensor also showed purification ability towards methcathinone and could be recycled multiple times with the aid of an external magnetic field. This sensing system based on magnetic core and molecularly imprinted polymers has great potential for sewage analysis and purification.

Glutathione-responsive hydrogel and molecularly imprinted polymer nanospheres: New aspect on cisplatin delivery

Mohammad Hassan Loghmani et al.

Summary: In this study, Glutathione-responsive hydrogel and molecularly imprinted polymers were synthesized by precipitation polymerization method, with an investigation into the effects of different functional monomers and crosslinking agents on particle size, drug loading, and release. Results showed that MIPs had higher binding capacity for cisplatin compared to NIPs, with EGDMA-synthesized polymers showing higher adsorption rates. Increasing levels of glutathione led to increased release of the drug from the hydrogel.

Entomological Surveillance and Cantharidin Concentrations in Mylabris variabilis and Epicauta rufidorsum Blister Beetles in Slovenia

Breda Jakovac-Strajn et al.

Summary: True blister beetles, particularly Epicauta rufidorsum, appear to be a significant source of forage contamination due to their behavior and abundance in fields. Modern forage harvesting methods may increase the risk of cantharidin toxicosis in animals.

Microfluidic paper-based chips in rapid detection: Current status, challenges, and perspectives

Xiaoxiao Qin et al.

Summary: Microfluidic paper-based chips (mu PCs) are innovative 3D structure chips that miniaturize biochemical reactions by using paper as a substrate material. With advantages of low cost, portability, and thermal stability, they have unique potential in rapid detection applications such as food safety, environmental pollution, and pathogen detection. Ongoing research focuses on the selection of paper substrates, hydrophilic/hydrophobic processing, and modification for further development in the field.
