Impacts of the evolving urban development on intra-urban surface thermal environment: Evidence from 323 Chinese cities

Huimin Liu et al.

Summary: This study examines the impact of urban development on surface thermal environment using an intra-urban perspective in 323 cities across China. The results show a close relationship between urban development and LST difference, ranging from -2.66 degrees C to 2.46 degrees C, with extremes of -6.27 degrees C in western China. New urban areas tend to be larger and cooler compared to old urban areas.

Research on Spatiotemporal Differentiation and Influence Mechanism of Urban Resilience in China Based on MGWR Model

Yu Chen et al.

Summary: Urban resilience is continuously declining over time with no apparent signs of convergence, while spatial agglomeration effect is increasing year by year. There is significant spatial heterogeneity in urban resilience, with high resilience in the east and low resilience in the west. Driving factors have different impact scales on the development of urban resilience.

Application of geographically weighted regression model in the estimation of surface air temperature lapse rate

Yun Qin et al.

Summary: This study accurately estimated the surface air temperature lapse rate (SATLR) in mainland China using the geographically weighted regression (GWR) model, and validated the model's accuracy and predictive ability. The results showed that the GWR model performed well in estimating SATLR and has potential wide application value in regions with complex terrain and climatic conditions.

Research on coordination level and influencing factors spatial heterogeneity of China's urban CO2 emissions

Wanying Li et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the spatial autocorrelation of CO2 emissions in cities and measured the coordination level between CO2 emissions level and urban development indicators. The results showed that the coordination level of CO2 emissions in Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Guangzhou is relatively high, and China's urban carbon emissions can be divided into six categories, with spatially heterogeneous influencing factors.

The conservation patterns of grassland ecosystem in response to the forage-livestock balance in North China

Lin Huang et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the balance between grassland forage supply and livestock-carrying pressure in North China from 2000 to 2015, showing a decrease in grassland area, some restoration of vegetation coverage, but continuous increase in livestock-carrying pressure.

Evaluation of the effect of geographical parameters on the formation of the land surface temperature by applying OLS and GWR, A case study Shiraz City, Iran

Abdolreza Kashki et al.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the factors affecting the surface temperature of urban areas in Shiraz. Through the use of OLS and GWR analysis of effective factors, combined with Landsat 8 satellite data for surface temperature, and employing component analysis to eliminate variable relationships. The results showed that GWR had better performance in showing the spatial distribution of LST.

Reconstructing high-resolution gridded precipitation data using an improved downscaling approach over the high altitude mountain regions of Upper Indus Basin (UIB)

Arfan Arshad et al.

Summary: This study proposes an Integrated Downscaling and Calibration (IDAC) framework using the MGWR model to generate high-resolution precipitation data over the Upper Indus Basin (UIB). Results show that MGWR outperforms the traditional GWR model in terms of accuracy when calibrated with geographical analysis methods.
