Real-time tracking of root hair nucleus morphodynamics using a microfluidic approach

Gaurav Singh et al.

Summary: Root hairs are tubular extensions of root epidermal cells that aid in nutrient uptake and microbe interactions. High-resolution confocal imaging allows for real-time monitoring of nuclear movement and shape changes during root hair development. Analysis reveals that mature root hair nuclei have higher aspect ratios, correlating with increased nuclear migration speeds.

Arabidopsis thaliana myosin XIK is recruited to the Golgi through interaction with a MyoB receptor

Chiara Perico et al.

Summary: Perico et al. utilized co-expression analysis and a FRET-FLIM approach to show that the Arabidopsis MyoB myosin receptor, MRF7, triggers the relocation of Myosin XI-K to the Golgi, providing evidence for plant myosin recruitment and control of organelle movement.
